it's actually paltalk (http://www.paltalk.com/) and they've used it since the first femslash con. not participating this year too. none of the panels sparked any interest for me :(

Whoops! Will correct that. Thanks! Was headed out for some iceskating when I posted that so didn't double check the facts. Yeah the panels seemed fandom centric or the most part; I thought they usually asked people what panels would be good but I think I missed that post since I only follow the DW community for passion and perfection, not the LJ one.

it feels pretty much like the previous years - cliquey and no one really stays on topic too much, no one really asks useful or interesting questions. 1st year felt a little chaotic, 2nd year is cliquely, although there was one or two interesting topics. ::shrug:: eh.

i've only ever used it for the con thing and have never used it for anything else. lol. essentially just as a chatroom thing.

you can create your own chatroom and make it private or invite only. and according to their product page, you can exchange files too.

btw, the parts i caught of the sex panel was good. i think it really depends on who the panelists are and how willing they are to stay on topic and not do idle chit chat.

Have you seen some of the femslash-related vids from the San Diego Comic Con yet? A fan from Australia asked the following awesome question to Leah Michele, aka Rachel Berry from Glee: if you had the chance to explore Rachel's sexuality how would you feel about Rachel doing that with Quinn, or even Santana? Ahahahah her answer has got it reblogged all over...

i don't actually don't follow glee. it's nice to hear that femslashyness is "mainstream", though :)
