Apparently this is femslash meta post day

There's some very interesting things going on right now; I'll add these links to my 'useful links' page.
Standards for gender equity in TV shows by

This should complement
bechdel_test nicely. Now if there was only some magical way of integrating these two concepts...

There's some interesting chatter over at
girlgay when anon is turned on. I was expecting actual femslash but it turned out to have two-pronged results: meta, and searches for rarepairs / rare fandoms. Anonymity brought out some really frank discussions, some good and some bad. Among the meta that were discussed:
girlgay anonymity: ON threads (19th Nov 2010)
-Do you have to be female to write good femslash? (the male gaze, men writing femslash, women who write male-gaze femslash, femslash as a "safe space", M/M writers writing F/F)
-apparently the male gaze is a problem? (the name
girlgay = men)
-Genderfuck/girl!penis doesn't get the same attitude as genderswap (hmm, does this indicate trans-phobia?) (girl!penis squick vs genderswap)
-What makes someone a femslasher?
-help with writing sex scenes (euphemisms)
-some people apparently hate Passion & Perfection with a passion
-there's no general femslash fanfic search help community but
girlgay welcomes fic search queries.
-there's no good femslash anywhere
(Personally, I'm of the opinion that good writing is good writing, no matter what gender you identify with. Bad writing is also bad writing, no matter what gender you are. lol)
Edit: I posted the
girlgay anonymous meta thread links on the comment area of latest post of
femslash_today. *waits to see what happens next...* (update: they posted a link to the main post instead. Which is good and bad.)
Edit 2: May I remind everyone of:
