Date: 2011-05-30 06:06 am (UTC)Going in, I was expecting something along the lines of the Cocteau Twins remix/rework EP "Otherness" - that particular album took the barest fragments of original songs and built entirely new, almost minimalist pieces of mood music around them. This track didn't go nearly as far, but what it did do was take a song I didn't originally care for overmuch ("Heaven or Las Vegas") and bump it up several notches in my estimation.
[Since you're probably not familiar with the back story -- Heaven or Las Vegas is only one of three albums in the entire CT discography with recognisable/decipherable English lyrics, and is actually pretty straightforward by their standards. May explain why it doesn't do too much for me in its original form, but eh.]
