Alt original/uber fic recs

A couple of days ago I kind of stumbled upon http://fanfictionreviews2012.freeforums.org, a forum for fanfics reviews, while googling something related. What's awesome is that most of the fics highlighted in the 'Fiction' section are femslash, alt/uber, or f/f original fics. While it's a little light on the "review" end (usually the posts are story descriptions and a link to the story) it's become a nice curated listing of works across several archives.

The forum looks to be well-moderated (no spam, for one) and the fic rec section looks pretty active, with a post every few days, which is a plus. The fiction recs section has a lot of posts by Norsebard and Lori (not sure if this Lori is Lori L Lake?), whose names I recognize from updates on RAOB. Kudos to them and all the others for posting so often! :) Some of the stories are works that are quite familiar if you've been reading RAOB / xenafiction.net fics for a while, while others are new to me, which is exciting.

Posting alt/uber fic recs on LJ used to be leavethesky's domain, but she hasn't been posting very much recently, so if you are/were interested in that sort of thing you might want to check the forum out. :) It looks like there's also some DWP fic recs too.

To be quite honest, my own alt/uber fic recs tended to be responses to whatever theme leavethesky was writing about at the time, and the reason why I started the Notables list was so that I could keep track of what I had written to people about. lol The concept has evolved into more of a curated list, but my original section still remains quite limited and fragmentary. Hope you enjoy the reads! :)

I liked it (I finished it in about 2 hours), though I think some of the concepts could be fleshed out a little more (I wanted more :D). Since it's put out in printed format, I understand limiting the page numbers to keep the cost of the book low, though. :)

the people who took all their info from my website, claimed it as theirs and then took it all back and did a back-handed apology when i called them out. lol.

Hmm I hadn't come across those two websites before--I was just curious to find a forum that linked to a variety of sites. It's quite strange that they would try to do that, if indeed that is the case. :( (I'm not familiar with the reasons as to why they would try to archive them without asking permission.) You would think by now they would know the internet etiquette for hosting fanfics...

i don't think they're hosting. i stopped hosting conqueror fics on my xena the conqueror site a few years earlier and asked other places to host the authors who only had their stuff on my conqueror site. i did, however, keep links as current as i could considering i was working as well as going to school at the time. they took all the link info and hours of searching and googling xena the conqueror story links that i did and created their conqueror website and claimed all my work as theirs -- that they looked for those story links, etc. they never gave me credit for the work i did. for the longest time, my xena the conqueror website was the only one that kept such a detailed list of every xena the conqueror fic that was online. i had links to stories that no one else had. i made up the category names of the types of xena the conqueror fics because of the lists i kept. started to see patterns, etc. in the stories and i divided up the stories into categories. they copied all my lists, right down to the names and categories i created. lol. that's how i knew they took my work -- they never bothered to change the names i gave to the different types of xena the conqueror stories.
