I'm back from hiatus! I've managed to slog through my "works in progress" list for updates this past week; now I'm currently going through my "to rec" bookmarks. I've had to reformat my laptop during the hiatus so I might have lost a bookmark or two. I hope to post a recslist later today or tomorrow.

metanews, a panfandom meta newsletter, is based in DW and collating things. Please help them out by linking to meta that you find if they missed something! :)

ajnabieh and memories_child are starting a research project on fandom auctions, particularly fandom auctions to support disaster relief after specific natural disasters. If you were involved in writing and/or arranging such auctions please consider helping them out. From the project description it seems like they're about to do quantitative analysis, which is only as useful as the amount of data points they have and the questions they ask of it.

Thanks for the signal-boost. Yeah, we're starting with quantitative stuff--the coding is miserable, but so far some of the results are interesting from the prelim stuff we've run, and I think we might get cool stuff out of the later stages. And then we'll be able to start the actually interesting stuff the parts dealing more with how actual fans think about their participation, rather than just the raw numbers of participation.

Ooh, how did I miss metanews? Need to switch to my fannish DW so I can subscribe. ;)

Yeah, I wanted to be consistent across the board. Also I got bored of the old one!
